Welcome to Mama Bears Cake Bar!
We're the pretty pink Cakery brightening up the High Street in Saxmundham, Suffolk. We serve a scrumptious variety of homemade and hand decorated cakes with flavours and styles that change daily. We firmly believe that a tall glass of bubbles is the best accompaniment to our bakes, that's why we are licensed to serve our sweet treats with an array of prosseco and wine. Of course we also offer a variety of teas, coffees, soft drinks and shakes.

We're all set up for takeaways to sort out that sugar fix on-the-go, but we love seeing you enjoy the Insta-worthy Cake Bar in all it's splendour, that's why we offer more than coffee and cake! We're the ideal spot to bring your baby bears for a treat after school, a safe space to unwind on your own after a long week - we're even open late on Friday and Saturday during the summer so it's the perfect spot for a catch up with the girls.

There's Afternoon Tea available from lunch to teatime and Mama Bears Cake Bar needs to be your go-to for custom celebration cakes - we're always honoured to be part of your big day too, so inject your nuptials with the Mama Bear spirit with one of our wedding cakes or grazing tables. How to find us:
Our white and pink exterior makes Mama Bears Cake Bar pretty easy to spot (and easy on the eye!). We're just off the A12, a few miles from the popular Suffolk seaside locales of Aldeburgh & Southwold, in the picturesque market town of Saxmundham.

We are a short walk from all of the local carparks and you'll find our cute courtyard located in Fromus Square, just behind Waitrose. You can take a seat outside to watch the world go by, or come on in and curl up on one of our cosy loveseats before snapping a new profile pic against our flower wall.

We're less than a five minute walk from Saxmundham train station, and walking distance from most of the amenities in Saxmundham. You can find us at:

That's why our custom cakes are the talk of any celebration!

Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Easter, Weddings, graduations, Christenings, Valentine's day, Mother's and Father's days, I mean, is there any event you can think of that won't be made better by cake?

It doesn't have to be a one cake creation either. We have treat boxes, cupcake selections, grazing tables and loaded brownies on offer too.

Meet
Mama Bear...
Also known as Rebecca, I'm the Mama Bear behind the Cake Bar.

I'm over the moon to share my dream with all of you, what little girl doesn't fantasise about having their very own pink palace one day that all their friends can come and play in?
​
I'm not only a proud Mama to the Cake Bar, but to two awesome little baby bears. Having found myself unable to return to work after the arrival of my second baby bear, Roux, I was facing the dilemma of what to do next. One baking course later and I had found my calling - cake! Turns out I was a natural born baker with a flare for pairing mouthwatering flavours with out-of-this-world decorations, I couldn't wait to share my creations with the world and so, started baking special orders from home.
​
We all know what happened in the first part of 2020...but who knew that a countrywide lockdown was going to send everyone crazy for cake! At home celebrations needed a centrepiece and we all searched for something to make our own four walls a little more enjoyable. So Mama Bear hit the road. With takeaway cakes being hand delivered door to door once a week and delivery days taking long over eight hours to complete, I knew that I had to create a space for all the cake loving customers to enjoy once we were back to normal.
​
And so, on the 21st July 2021, the doors to the Cake Bar opened and a whole community was created. I think of Mama Bears Cake Bar as a sanctuary for us ladies (with warm welcomes for partners and baby bears too!) I wanted to create a space where everyone feels comfortable, where you can chat and socialise or just simply sit, relax and always enjoy the finer things in life - prosecco and cake!

While I'm always around, I'm still busy creating lots of custom bakes in the back, that's why I'm so proud to have an incredible front of house team at the Cake Bar and they are all spreading the Mama Bear spirit everyday. We all look forward to seeing returning friends and meeting new ones, we just can't wait for you to become part of the pack!
